August, 2012: International layer 2 carrier, IX Reach, is very pleased to announce that it’s the first reseller of remote peering services at the Milan Internet Exchange (MIX) in Italy and has connected this highly regarded Internet exchange to its already expansive network covering Europe and North America.
This new agreement will allow IX Reach customers wider coverage when entering the European market, providing them with direct, robust and secure connectivity and colocation into the Italian Internet Exchange (IX).
MIX has over 80 members, and peak traffic of over 50Gbps making it the largest IXP in Italy. Using IX Reach to provide direct connections to MIX enables customers broader access through its comprehensive MPLS Ethernet network internationally; IX Reach can provide capacities ranging from 100Mbps to multiple 10Gbps from any on-net location to MIX, opening up the country to the rest of Europe and North America.
