‘IX Reach’ing across the world with LINX
October, 2012: Since becoming a LINX reseller back in April, IX Reach has received significant interest in connecting new members via the ConneXions programme. The layer 2 carrier has enabled remote peering connections to LINX from networks across the UK, Europe and further afield including the Middle East and North America.
The feedback to date has been very positive with customers enjoying the benefits of reduced install costs, fractional GigE port sizes and fast and efficient upgrade paths to higher commits. Along with ConneXions, April also marked the launch for IXManchester – housed in Telecity’s Williams and Kilburn House data centres – which has proven to be highly popular for members wanting to exchange traffic locally instead of backhauling via London. To boost interest in the new Internet Exchange, IXManchester is offering free ports until the end of 2013, and possibly for even longer.
