The Logo isn’t the Only ‘Green’ Thing About IX Reach

May, 2012: IX Reach, an international layer 2 carrier, is proud to announce that it has entered into a new type of partnership – this time it is not to bring connectivity across the globe, but instead to give back to the local community; IX Reach has partnered with the local university, Buckinghamshire New University to improve the environment around High Wycombe with help from Wycombe District Council. This project saw the organisations working together and volunteering to clear up woodland at Castlefield Wood in High Wycombe, removing everything from general litter to broken car parts, beds and carpets. Elaine Dixon, who works in Public Relations at IX Reach and is an alumna of Bucks New University, is pleased about this new partnership; “In this ‘use and throw away’ generation, it’s important to look after our resources as best we can. Combining my interest in environmental issues with my Alma Mater meant a lot to me and it was great to see the students get involved and enthusiastic about being ‘green’.” Amy Gordon, Vice President Student Involvement at Bucks Students’ Union, said the work even involved carrying a broken bath from the roadside. She said: “The litter pick was a great day for our students to go out into the local community and give something back, whilst at the same time having a little competition between themselves to see who could clear the most debris!” Over 14 refuse bags of litter were collected and then taken away by the council to be disposed of correctly. IX Reach would like to thank all that made this a successful day, and everyone that helped the local area return to a slightly greener colour.   About IX Reach IX Reach operates its own purpose built international MPLS network reaching over 27 major cities across Europe and North America.
